Microscope: Swift 380T, photographs are normally taken with Canon 2000D (sometimes I use a handheld digital scope)

I haven't got the best equipment and I still have a lot to learn, but I do have a lot of fun with it. I've even got a little moss terrarium where I keep rotifers and tardigrades.

Tips for Taking Better Photos with a Microscope - Photomicrography

Measure Spores with Piximetre

Xanthoparmelia sp. from a giant colony I have been meaning to visit found on the side of a road. I managed to grab a sample from a bit of rock that was broken off. Some thalli measured nearly 30cm in diametre, some of the apothecia were 1cm+ across. I wonder how old they are I'd love to start some sort of lichenometry project to document yearly growth.

Possibly Melanelixia sp.? Not super sure on the ID because I rarely find apothecia on Melanelixia around here (that means nothing though) but I also just haven't gone through the ID process with this. Specimen was hydrated. Taken with a cheap digital microscope

Calicium sp. - taken with a digital microscope

Soralia/soredia of Lobaria pulmonaria - digital microscope

Clamp connection, Phyllotopsis nidulans

Calcium oxalate crystals found on the pileus/hymenium of Auriscalpium vulgare

Some little pics I made up for my local mycology group. Cross section of pileus (Cyclocybe aegerita) including gills, stained with congo red and mounted in 5% KOH. I believe these were all taken with the 60x objective. This is about as clear as I can get for basidia.
